This was announced by Ashok Paliwal, National President of the Hair and Beauty Federation of India, during a press conference on Tuesday. Since then, the Federation has expanded its presence to almost all states of India.
Paliwal informed that the first national convention of the Federation, titled “Manthan”, will be held on January 7 at Hotel Inder Residency, Udaipur. Around 250 selected delegates from 15 states will participate in the convention. These delegates include presidents, secretaries and other office-bearers of various associations.
He further said that the first session of the convention will feature the inaugural ceremony, followed by a fashion show, in which around 15 models from across the country will showcase beauty looks and creative hairstyles. Renowned hair experts, who have received awards on major national platforms, will also be present to prepare and present these styles.
In the second session, deliberations and decisions will be held on 13 key issues identified by the Federation. Major demands include the formation of a Hair Art Board in all states, allocation of an appropriate budget for the boards, a four-year tenure, and appointment of a professional from the hair and beauty field as the Board Chairperson. Other topics of discussion include health and safety, education, public awareness about avoiding chemical-based cosmetics, recognition of professionals from this field with Padma Shri awards, pension and healthcare schemes for industry workers, business development, and unity within the sector.
Following these discussions, a national-level committee will be constituted to take these issues forward to the government.
