Strengthening UK–India education ties through world-class learning
Jaipur, The British Council, the United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, in partnership with the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, has announced the GREAT Scholarships 2026–27 for Indian students. The scholarships are aimed at academically outstanding Indian students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK.
For the 2026–27 academic year, leading UK universities are offering 12 postgraduate scholarships across a wide range of disciplines. Participating institutions include Anglia Ruskin University, Norwich University of the Arts, Queen’s University Belfast, Royal College of Art, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Royal Northern College of Music, University of Bristol, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, University of Dundee, University of Reading, University of Surrey, and the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol.
Each scholarship provides a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course, enabling eligible Indian students to access world-class education and internationally recognised expertise.
The scholarships cover diverse subject areas such as finance, marketing, business management, psychology, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), design, humanities, as well as arts, music and dance programmes. Notably, four partner universities are offering GREAT Scholarships in creative and performing arts, highlighting the UK’s strong presence not only in academic and professional fields but also in arts education.
The GREAT Scholarships programme is jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK higher education institutions. The shared objective is to expand access to high-quality UK education and further deepen academic and cultural collaboration between India and the UK.
