###Geetanjali Medical University holds organ donation awareness drive at Fateh Sagar

Udaipur: Geetanjali Medical University organised a public awareness campaign on organ donation at Fateh Sagar on Sunday morning to encourage citizens to pledge their organs and dispel myths surrounding organ donation.

The programme, held at 7.30 am, featured street plays performed by students of Geetanjali Dental Institute and Geetanjali College of Nursing, highlighting the importance of organ donation and its potential to save multiple lives. Students of Geetanjali Medical College also presented awareness skits and interacted with the public, explaining that a single organ donor can give a new lease of life to several patients.

As part of the campaign, balloons carrying messages promoting organ donation were released into the sky, symbolising hope and inspiring people to support the cause. The performances received an encouraging response from morning walkers and visitors at Fateh Sagar.

Among those present were Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Dean, GMCH; Dr. Harpreet Singh, Medical Superintendent, GMCH; Dr. Jitendra Hirani, Deputy Medical Superintendent, GMCH; Dr. Karuna Sharma, Nodal Officer, Organ Transplant, GMCH; and Rajesh Mehta, Organ Transplant Coordinator.

Principals of all constituent institutions of Geetanjali Medical University also participated in the event and appealed to citizens to come forward for organ donation, describing it as one of the highest forms of humanitarian service. The university said the initiative was aimed at creating greater awareness and motivating more people to register as organ donors.
