Ode to the Great Masters: Farokh R. Messman Unveils New Art Exhibition

Eighty-two-year-old entrepreneur and former owner of the celebrated bakery brand Theobroma, Farokh R. Messman, unveiled Inspired by the Masters at Kaladalan Gallery, P. L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Prabhadevi. The exhibition, curated and organised by Mr. Messman, celebrates the beauty and enduring legacy of some of the world's greatest artists. Noted philanthropist Dr. Aneel Kashi Murarka inaugurated the exhibition.

The show features artworks inspired by celebrated masters such as Pablo Picasso, M. F. Husain, Raja Ravi Varma, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, Amrita Sher-Gil, et al, alongside portraits, landscapes, still life studies, wildlife, religious themes and contemporary works.

The exhibition seeks to make art more accessible and affordable to the middle class while providing greater visibility to talented yet underrepresented Indian artists. A distinctive feature of the exhibition is its first-of-its-kind buyer assurance programme. Under the initiative, supported by a bank guarantee, purchasers will be assured that after five years Mr. Messman will either facilitate the resale of the artwork at a minimum of double its purchase value or provide a full refund of the original purchase price, while allowing the buyer to retain the artwork free of cost.

The exhibition will remain on display at Kaladalan Gallery - P. L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy until 11th June 2026 and is open daily from 11 am to 7 pm.
