###Rotary Club of Udaipur installs new team, plans $30,000 grant for community projects

Udaipur,  Rotary Club of Udaipur installed its office-bearers for the 2026-27 term at its 69th installation ceremony held at Rotary Bajaj Bhawan on Thursday, with the incoming president announcing plans to secure a $30,000 matching grant from The Rotary Foundation for permanent community service projects.


Justice G.R. Moolchandani, Chairman of the Rajasthan Human Rights Commission, was the chief guest. Rotary District Governor Arun Bagadia attended as the guest of honour, while Past District Governor Nirmal Singhvi officiated the installation ceremony.

Mr. Singhvi administered the oath of office to Shrichand Khaturia, who assumed charge as the club's 69th president. Members of the newly elected executive committee, including President-elect Vivek Vyas and President-nominee Ajay Agrawal, were also sworn in.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Moolchandani said Rotary had earned global recognition for its selfless service in areas such as healthcare, blood donation, environmental conservation, water conservation, child welfare and community development. He said the organisation's objective was to extend assistance to the most vulnerable sections of society.

Mr. Bagadia said contributions made to The Rotary Foundation were returned to communities in the form of matching grants for service projects. He said Rotary would work with the Rajasthan government during the year on cervical cancer vaccination for girls and welfare initiatives for women prisoners. He also inducted Kavisha Manwani as a new member of the club.

Mr. Khaturia said the club would seek a $30,000 matching grant from The Rotary Foundation to implement permanent community service projects. He said cervical cancer vaccination for girls would be among the club's highest priorities during the year.

Assistant District Governor Gajendra Jodhawat said Rotary would continue to undertake projects aligned with the organisation's international theme while strengthening its commitment to community service.

During the function, the club released its annual bulletin. It also donated a computer set to Government Senior Secondary School, Goyan, and furniture along with notebooks for students of Government Senior Secondary School, Boojhra, as part of its educational outreach initiatives.

The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Khaturia, followed by an invocation by Sheila Talesara and Darshana Singhvi. Club members reaffirmed their commitment to expanding Rotary's service initiatives during the year.
