CM Bhajan Lal Sharma: A Leader Committed to Progress and Good Governance

Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma assumed office as the 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan on 15 December 2023. With decades of organisational experience in public service, he brings a focused approach to development, youth empowerment, investment, law and order, environmental conservation, and women’s welfare.
Under his leadership, the Government of Rajasthan has prioritised rapid progress and transparent governance:
* Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024
The summit attracted investment proposals worth ₹35 lakh crore through signed MoUs. Projects worth several lakh crore have already been grounded, creating pathways for lakhs of new employment opportunities and aiming for a $350 billion state economy by 2030.
* Hariyalo Rajasthan Campaign
Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, over 20 crore saplings have been planted in just two years. Rajasthan continues to lead the country in solar energy generation with an installed capacity of 22,860 MW. The Circular Economy Incentive Scheme-2025 further promotes sustainable waste management and green innovation.
* Youth Empowerment and Skill Development
More than 7,200 startups have been registered under the iStart platform, many led by young entrepreneurs and women, supported by investments of over ₹1,000 crore.
Skill training programmes target 1.5 lakh youth in emerging sectors. Initiatives such as Atal Innovation Studio, Accelerate Rajasthan, Startup Launchpad, and the Youth Policy-2024 provide apprenticeships, internships, and AI-based career counselling.
The Rajasthan DigiFest TiE Global Summit 2026 (held 4-6 January 2026 in Jaipur) connected local startups with global mentors and investors, alongside the launch of the Rajasthan AI-ML Policy.
* Law and Order
An Anti-Gangster Task Force and Special Investigation Team for examination paper leaks were established immediately after taking office, demonstrating strong commitment to safety and transparency in recruitment processes.
* Diaspora Engagement
A dedicated Non-Resident Rajasthani Department has been created, and Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas is observed annually to encourage Rajasthanis abroad to invest in the state and mentor local youth.
* Education and Infrastructure
Over 8,000 smart classrooms have been set up, sports development schemes like Rajasthan Target Olympic Podium have been introduced, and transparent recruitment processes have been strengthened.
Initiatives for Women Empowerment and Welfare
The government places special emphasis on women’s safety, education, economic independence, and health:
* Economic Empowerment → Expanded the Lakhpati Didi programme, creating over 12 lakh Lakhpati Didis through self-help groups (SHGs), with training for 19.45 lakh women. Launched the Raj Sakhi portal for SHGs and supported Namo Drone Didis.
* Education and Mobility → Distributed over 10.51 lakh bicycles and nearly 40,000 scooters/e-cycles to girl students under schemes like Kali Bai Bhil Udaan Yojana and Lado Protsahan Yojana (increased financial assistance to ₹1.50 lakh, benefiting 4.70 lakh girls).
* Health and Hygiene → Provided free sanitary napkins to 1.22 crore women; increased assistance under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana from ₹5,000 to ₹6,500; enhanced honorarium for Anganwadi workers by 10%.
* Safety Measures → Established 500 Kalika patrolling units, 65 anti-Romeo squads, three women police battalions, and women’s counselling centres at police stations to ensure a fear-free environment.
* Other Support → Free bus travel for women on special occasions like Raksha Bandhan; support for events like Saras Rajsakhi Fair to promote women artisans.
Vision for Rajasthan’s Youth and Women
Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma firmly believes that the progress of Rajasthan rests on the shoulders of its young generation and empowered women. He encourages innovation, continuous learning, skill development, and placing national interest first, assuring complete government support for their aspirations in technology, entrepreneurship, sports, and public service.
