The Water Source Worship Week, organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad Subhash branch, concluded today at the Government Residency School. The week had begun on World Water Day (22 March). The closing ceremony was marked by a water aarti and पूजा of a handpump connected to a rooftop rainwater harvesting system installed three years ago under the guidance of Water Hero Dr. P. C. Jain.
On the same day, similar water worship activities were conducted at various places including Vidya Niketan Ashok Nagar, Government School Kharsan, Soni Family Kankroli, and Bharat Vikas Parishad Banswara.
At Sai Tirupati University, Umarda, 101 doctors, NSS volunteers, students, and staff collectively took a pledge to understand their responsibility toward water conservation. They resolved to use water wisely in their daily lives and continuously work toward its preservation.
The week-long initiative began with water source worship at a well located at Rana Pratap Nagar Railway Station. Throughout the week, similar programs were conducted across many locations in India and abroad—including Surat, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, the United States, Australia, and England—spreading awareness about saving water sources. Participating institutions included Geology College, Geography College, Balika School Sundarwas, Nimbark B.Ed. College, Sophia B.Ed. College & School, Vartaman Senior Secondary School, Vision Divine Academy, Government School Kaya, NCA School Nakoda Nagar, Vidya Niketan School Ogna, Bharat Vikas Parishad Padmini Branch Udaipur, and Pacific Medical College Umarda.
This initiative was organized under the guidance of Water Hero Dr. P. C. Jain, along with Asha Mehta and Gayatri Sharma, who hold national responsibilities, encouraging water conservation and de-addiction efforts in Rajasthan South Province of Bharat Vikas Parishad.
During today’s program at Residency School, President R. L. Jain, Dr. Nagendra Prasad Sharma, and Shyam Mathpal recited water-themed poetry, while Dr. P. C. Jain performed the water aarti.
The event was celebrated with enthusiasm at the heritage Girls’ Residency School under the aegis of Bharat Vikas Parishad Subhash. Principal Mukesh Parakh welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude for installing the water harvesting system in the school.
On this occasion, Dr. P. C. Jain administered a pledge for water conservation to teachers, B.Ed. trainees, and hostel students. The school’s water cooler and handpump were worshipped, followed by a water aarti.
President R. L. Jain highlighted the importance of water conservation, while chief guest Shyam Mathpal presented a self-composed poem. Staff members Anil Jakhad, Rekha Shandilya, Manju Gurjar, Reena, and Sangeeta Verma decorated the key water sources of the school. Mamta Boliya, the in-charge, delivered the vote of thanks.
