Udaipur: A poignant story depicting the ups and downs of life's journey and the emotional bond between a father and son was staged on Sunday evening at Darpan Auditorium, Shilpgram, Udaipur. The performance was organized under Rangshala, the monthly theatre series hosted by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur.
Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Dr. Ashwin M. Dalvi, informed that as part of the Rangshala initiative, Delhi-based Prism Theatre Society presented the play Cycle of Life at Darpan Auditorium. The play was conceived and directed by Ginni Babbar. The powerful performance received an enthusiastic response from the audience, with the auditorium packed to capacity.
The play beautifully portrayed the cycle of life through the compelling performances of the cast. Lalit Prakash played the role of the elderly father, Nishant Kumar Thakur portrayed the son, and Jyoti Nagpal enacted the role of the mother. Beginning with the everyday conflicts and exchanges between father and son, the story gradually unfolded to depict the son's transformation following his father's death and highlighted the mother's emotional journey throughout these changing circumstances. The actors brought these sensitive emotions to life with remarkable realism and depth.
The lighting design for the production was handled by Vikas Bahri, whose work enhanced the dramatic impact of the performance.
Theatre enthusiasts appreciated the efforts of the West Zone Cultural Centre in promoting performing arts through such initiatives and expressed gratitude for organizing meaningful cultural events. At the conclusion of the program, all participating artists were felicitated for their contribution.
Among those present on the occasion were Deputy Director (Programmes) Pawan Amaravat, Superintending Engineer C.L. Salvi, Programme Executive Hemant Mehta, Siddhant Bhatnagar, along with officials and staff members of the Centre and several distinguished guests from the city.
