Drug-Free India Pledge: Bharat Vikas Parishad Inspires Students Toward a Better Future

Udaipur: Bharat Vikas Parishad, Mewar Branch, Udaipur, organized a Drug De-addiction Awareness Campaign, Pledge, and Service Dedication Ceremony at Government Senior Secondary School, Gaurela, in memory of the Parishad’s founder, Dr. Suraj Prakash. During the event, students took a pledge to lead a drug-free life, meritorious students and teachers were felicitated, and ceiling fans were donated to the school as a service initiative.

Branch President Dr. Narendra Singh Sisodia said that Bharat Vikas Parishad is observing a nationwide Service Fortnight from June 27 to July 10, marking the period from the birth anniversary of founder Dr. Suraj Prakash to the organization’s Foundation Day. The event was organized as part of this campaign to educate young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse and inspire them to lead healthy, value-based, and nation-oriented lives.

Branch Sanskar Convener Dr. Yogesh Gyani administered a collective pledge to students, teachers, and attendees, encouraging them to remain free from intoxicating substances throughout their lives and to motivate their family members and friends to do the same. A Drug-Free India Signature Campaign was also conducted.

Responding to a request from School Principal Manoj Kumar Jain, philanthropist Deepak Darak donated ceiling fans for the school’s newly constructed lecture hall in memory of his mother. Additionally, Dr. Jayraj Acharya, National Service Activities Head, announced the donation of six more ceiling fans to meet the school’s requirements.

Regional Contact Head Sanjeev Bhardwaj felicitated meritorious students with mementos, certificates, and traditional shawls. The students, in turn, honored their teachers through the Guru Vandan–Chhatra Abhinandan programme, highlighting the importance of the teacher-student tradition and the values it represents.

Senior member Harishankar Tiwari welcomed the Parishad’s new member Chandraprakash Jain and expressed gratitude to all guests, teachers, students, and supporters for making the programme successful. The event also received valuable support from Sarita Darak, Sunanda Bhardwaj, Vinod Tripathi, and Treasurer Mahendra Paliwal. The programme was conducted by Parishad Secretary Advocate Sanjay Mehta.
