Rotary Club Udaipur Vasudha Begins New Rotary Year with Service and Commitment

Udaipur: Rotary Club Udaipur Vasudha marked the beginning of the Rotary Year 2026–27 with a programme dedicated to service, respect, and humanitarian values. The most inspiring moment of the event came when Club President Rtn. Deepti Lodha pledged to donate her body in the presence of Dr. R.L. Suman, Superintendent of MB General Hospital, sending a powerful message of selfless service and humanity to society.

Club Charter President Shakuntala Porwal said that President Deepti Lodha’s decision is a commendable initiative that will help raise awareness about the importance of body donation. On the occasion, she was felicitated with a traditional uparna in recognition of her inspiring commitment.

During the programme, 151 doctors were honored with traditional shawls (uparnas) and sweets in appreciation of their dedicated service to healthcare. Additionally, 11 nursing staff members were felicitated for their outstanding contribution to patient care.

Continuing the spirit of humanitarian service, Club member Pankaj Sharma and Mrs. Munmun Sharma pledged to donate their eyes in the presence of Dr. Ashok Bairwa. Their commitment highlighted the importance of organ and eye donation and encouraged greater public awareness about these life-saving causes.

Club Secretary Ekta Solanki expressed gratitude to all those present and informed that the programme was attended by Sangeeta Tated, Kiran Talesara, Annapurna Gaur, former Club President Sharad Rathore, Pramila Surana, Pankaj Sharma, and several other members.

The inaugural programme for the Rotary Year 2026–27 reflected Rotary’s motto, "Service Above Self," and stood as an inspiring example of service, respect, and commitment to humanity. The pledges for body and eye donation added a meaningful social dimension to the event, encouraging greater awareness and inspiring others to contribute to society through the gift of life.
