Govind Nagar Residents Threaten ‘No Patta, No Vote’

Udaipur,More than 1,000 families living in Govind Nagar, Basant Vihar and Rupaji Ki Badi colonies in Udaipur's rural assembly constituency have launched a decisive campaign demanding regularisation of their homes and issuance of land ownership pattas. Submitting a memorandum to the District Collector, the Govind Nagar Jan Vikas Samiti sought the resumption of proceedings under Section 90B within 15 days and a joint Full Tank Level (FTL) survey by the Revenue, UDA and Water Resources departments.

The committee alleged that regularisation was halted after the area was classified as part of the "Futa Talab" zone, despite 70–80% of the locality being fully developed with roads, electricity, water supply and drainage. It cited a 2008 divisional commissioner's order and the Supreme Court's ruling in the State of Rajasthan vs UltraTech case, arguing that the actual ground condition should prevail over outdated revenue records. Warning of a mass agitation, residents declared "No Patta, No Vote" if their demands remain unmet.
