Rajasthan Creates History by Winning Gold Medal at the 14th National Dragon Boat Championship

Udaipur | Rajasthan created history at the 14th National Dragon Boat Championship (Junior & Senior), being held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, as the Rajasthan Junior Mixed Team won the gold medal in the 2000-meter race on the second day of the competition on Wednesday.

President of the Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Bhagwan Swaroop, and Secretary Dilip Singh Chauhan informed that nearly 12 of the country’s best teams participated in the Junior Mixed 2000-meter race. The Rajasthan Junior Mixed Team completed the race in 10 minutes and 243 milliseconds, securing the gold medal.

Rajasthan Dragon Boat Chairman Ajay Agrawal and Association official Mahesh Pimpalkar stated that the gold medal–winning Junior Mixed Team included Kanishka Kumawat, Shagun Kumawat, Manasvi Sukhwal, Naisa Paneri, Charvi Kumawat, Kavya Saini, Pranavi Kumawat, Tejasvi Joshi, Devendra Singh, Kulvardhan Singh Shaktawat, Parth Singh Chundawat, Saksham Kumawat, Anant Singhvi, and Manas Sukhwal. The players delivered outstanding performances to bring glory to Rajasthan. Former international medalist Ms. Tanishk Patwa has been appointed as the coach for both the Rajasthan Junior and Senior teams.

Association Chairman Chandra Gupta Singh Chauhan extended his congratulations to all the gold medal–winning athletes. He also congratulated Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevalramani, District Sports Officer Mahesh Paliwal, and UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain. The association officials and players expressed their gratitude to Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of the former royal family and Nivrittisinh for providing boats for training purposes.

Secretary Chauhan further informed that prior to the championship, selection trials for the Rajasthan team were conducted at the Regional Coaching Centre located at Fateh Sagar in Udaipur, where the best players from across the state were selected. On this occasion, Association Chairman Piyush Kachhwaha, Tushar Mehta, Kamlesh Hathi, Senior Vice President Dr. Mahavir Singh Parihar, Vice President Prof. Madan Singh Rathore, Technical Officer Deepak Gupta, and Treasurer Dr. Bhupendra Singh conveyed their best wishes to the team.
