Udaipur: The monthly meeting of Time Bank Udaipur, an organization working on the innovative concept of social cooperation and time-based service exchange, was held on Sunday in a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere. 65 active members along with their spouses attended the meeting.
M.K. Mathur and K.K. Sharma welcomed the participants and shared that the Time Bank Udaipur, which began with just seven members, has successfully added over 430 members in its five-year journey. To streamline organizational operations, the city has now been divided into five sub-groups within a 3-kilometer radius. Two of these groups operate in Hiran Magri, while another functions in Subhash Nagar. Going forward, each sub-group will hold monthly meetings locally, while all members will gather for a quarterly collective meeting.
Media Coordinator Prof. Vimal Sharma highlighted that the meeting featured cultural activities, including songs, ghazals, and entertaining games. The program was conducted by E.C.P. Jain, who recited a self-composed poem on ‘Mother’. New member Jagdishwari narrated an interesting story. M.P. Mathur sang the ghazal “Khamoshi Ki Bhi Chuppi” written by Vimal Sharma. Other participants included Bhagwat Singh Hada with “Aansu Bhari Hai”, Vipin Gupta with ghazal “Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar”, Dr. Ashok Gupta with poem “Mere Bharat Ki Mati”, Sanjay Gupta Devesh performing a Tandav rhythm-based Dhanakshari, M.G. Varshney with a patriotic song, Mrs. Jhank with a bhajan, and Raju Badwa with “Abhi Na Jao”, captivating the audience with their performances.
Focusing on healthcare initiatives, the members discussed organizing medical camps and free health consultation sessions in the coming days. Selected members were also provided free heart kits during the meeting.
On this occasion, seven new members were formally welcomed with tilak, dupatta, and applause, followed by brief introductions. Speakers reiterated their commitment to the core philosophy of Time Bank — “service through time” — aiming to make it even more impactful.
The meeting concluded with Prof. Vimal Sharma reciting his published poem, “Samay Ki Amulya Sougaat” (“The Priceless Gift of Time”). Members thoroughly enjoyed the event, celebrating cooperation and camaraderie, and the program ended with the national anthem and a communal meal.
