Udaipur: Dr. S.K. Verma, Bhukti Pradhan of Ananda Marga Pracharaka Sangha, Udaipur, informed that on February 12, 1973, opponents and evil forces attempted to destroy the social, economic, and spiritual principles propounded for the upliftment of humanity by Margaguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. While he was imprisoned in Bankipur Jail, Patna (Bihar), he was allegedly administered poison in the name of medicine.
Despite submitting written appeals to all competent authorities demanding a judicial inquiry into the poisoning, no action was taken. In protest against this injustice, he undertook a prolonged fast lasting 5 years, 4 months, and 2 days. In 1978, he was honorably acquitted of all charges by the court and released, demonstrating that righteousness ultimately triumphs over injustice and immorality.
To mark Gurudev’s survival and as a symbol of continuous struggle against evil forces and commitment to serving the needy, followers around the world observe February 12 as Neelkanth Day.
This year as well, on Thursday, February 12, the Udaipur Diocese Unit of Ananda Marga Pracharaka Sangha organized a ceremonial Dharmachakra at Jagruti, located on Tekri-Madri Road. The program began with the singing of Prabhat Samgiit, followed by the chanting of the Ashtakshara Siddha Mahamantra, “Baba Nam Kevalam.” The observances included Ishvara Pranidhana, Guru Puja, Varna Dhyana, and Swadhyaya (scriptural study).
On this occasion, Narayana Seva was also conducted, during which 7 kilograms of boondi prasad were distributed among children, the elderly, and laborers. All spiritual practitioners of the division reaffirmed their commitment to walking the path of spiritual morality and to continuously striving against injustice.
