Cub and Bulbul, Golden Arrow Cub–Bulbul Training Camp Concludes in Udaipur

Udaipur: Under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Bharat Scouts and Guides, District Headquarters Udaipur, the district-level Fourth Phase Cub and Heerak Pankh Bulbul, Golden Arrow Cub–Bulbul Training Camp was organized from February 12 to 14 at Udyanivas.
The closing ceremony was held in the presence of Chief Guest Pratima Sharma, Principal of Maharana Mewar Vidya Mandir School. Distinguished guests included Dr. Dharmapal Singh Dudi, Group Leader and Rover Leader at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, along with Surendra Rawal and Kushal Rawal, Directors of Abhinav Shikshan Sansthan.
Scout Officer Surendra Kumar Pandey informed that 150 Cub boys and 145 Bulbul girls participated in the camp from schools including Maharana Mewar Vidya Mandir School, Rockwoods High School, Abhinav School, B.N. Public School, Mikado Global School, and Happy Home School. The guests were welcomed with the Scout scarf and honored with the traditional Mewari uparna.
Surendra Kumar Pandey served as the Chief Camp Director of the Cub section, while Abhilasha Mishra was the Camp Director of the Bulbul section. The Fourth Phase Cub Camp was conducted by Senior Training Counselor Kunj Bihari Menaria, and the Heerak Pankh Bulbul Camp was led by Leader Trainer Anjana Sharma.
Pandey stated that the camp included both theoretical and practical training and assessments from the First Phase to the Golden Arrow level. Participants were trained in various aspects of the Scout–Guide movement, including its history, rules, promise, symbols, salute, motto, the story of Mowgli from The Jungle Book, Veer Garjana, Vishal Garjana, BP Six, uniform, proficiency badges, test cards, Red Flower ceremony, and cultural performances. Competitions such as paper cutting, paper mache, clay art, drawing, essay writing, speech, frog race, relay activities, storytelling, and group songs were also conducted under the guidance of skilled trainers.
Addressing the participants, Chief Guest Pratima Sharma emphasized that scouting plays a vital role in shaping responsible citizens. She praised the discipline, punctuality, and personality development skills imparted during the camp and stated that such activities should be conducted in every school.
Speaking as a special guest, Dr. Dharmapal Singh Dudi remarked that it is easier to shape young minds, and the different age-based branches of the Scout–Guide movement are a living example of this philosophy. He highlighted how children begin as Cubs and Bulbuls with the motto “Try” and grow into Rovers and Rangers, living by the motto “Service.”
Surendra Rawal and Kushal Rawal also shared their scouting experiences. Scouts and Guides who contributed to the camp’s organization were honored with traditional uparna by the guests. The Cub and Bulbul participants also shared their camp experiences during the closing session.
