World Water Source Worship Week Observed on World Water Day

On the occasion of World Water Day (March 22, 2026), the Subhash Branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad organized a special program under the World Water Source Worship Week.

As part of the initiative, the branch conducted a water source worship ceremony at a well located at the Shiva Temple near Rana Pratap Railway Station. Notably, a rooftop rainwater harvesting system had been installed at this site 14 years ago in 2012, making it a significant example of sustainable water management.

The program began with a cleanliness drive around the well, along with the maintenance of the installed water filtration system. Following this, women members of the Parishad performed a traditional worship of the water source, singing the devotional aarti “Om Jai Jal Dev Hare, Peedit Jan Ka Sankat Jaldi Door Kare.”

The chief guest, Dr. Uma Shankar Sharma, former Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, emphasized the importance of conserving water sources, preventing water pollution, and minimizing water usage in daily life.

Provincial Water Conservation In-charge Dr. P. C. Jain urged everyone to stay committed to water conservation efforts throughout their lives.

Branch President Er. R. L. Jain encouraged all members to actively participate in the week-long program. A total of 32 members, including 12 women, took part in the event.

At the conclusion of the program, women members performed a traditional Ghoomar dance on the song “Baras Baras Mara Inder Raja Tu Barse Mero Kaaj Sare,” celebrating the significance of water and rainfall.

A water conservation pledge was administered by Dr. Uma Shankar Sharma, inspiring all participants to commit to saving water.

The event was attended by members including Rishabh Jain, L. C. Jain, Nirbhay Babel, O. P. Mutha, B. L. Kabra, Naveen Sharma, Pankaj Nagori, and Mahesh Baya, among others.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vice President Dr. Manju Jain.
