District Collector Inspects Mansi Wakal and Dewas Water Projects

Udaipur: District Collector Gaurav Aggarwal conducted an intensive inspection of the city and district’s major water supply projects, Mansi Wakal and Dewas, on Friday. During the visit, he reviewed the drinking water supply system in view of the upcoming summer season and issued necessary directions. He also instructed that the works under Dewas Phase III and IV be completed in a time-bound manner with proper quality standards.

In the evening, around 5:30 PM, Collector Aggarwal reached Mansi Wakal along with officials from the Water Resources Department and the Public Health Engineering Department. He inspected the Mansi Wakal tunnel and took detailed information about the water supply arrangements. He also gathered feedback from officials regarding the expected increase in drinking water demand and its availability in the coming days.

He emphasized that no area should face drinking water shortage during the summer season and directed all departments to work in coordination. He instructed officials to regularly monitor water sources, ensure adequate tanker supply, and make arrangements for alternative water supply if required.

The District Collector also visited the Akodara Dam and inspected the dam structure, gates, and tunnel. He reviewed the entire process of water diversion to Lake Pichola and appreciated the project for its effective gravity-based water supply system.

Later, he visited the proposed tunnel site under Dewas Phase III and IV and reviewed the initial stage of construction work. He described Dewas as an important project and directed that all works be completed in a timely manner with high quality standards.

During the inspection, Superintending Engineer Ravindra Chaudhary, Executive Engineers Srishti Menaria and Naveen Sharma (PHED), Executive Engineers Birbal Dudi and Mohit Patidar (Water Resources Department), Jhadol Tehsildar Sitaram Boliwal, BDO Jitendra Rajawat, and other departmental officials were present.
