Tributes Paid to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule; Pledge to Follow His Ideals

Udaipur: As per the directions of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, four-day celebrations marking Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti commenced across the state on Saturday, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. On this occasion, floral tributes were paid to the great social reformer at various events.

In Udaipur, under the guidance of District Collector Gaurav Agarwal, a program was organized at the EWS College Level Girls’ Hostel through the joint efforts of the district administration and the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.

The chief guest of the event was Acting CEO of the District Council, Virma Ram, while it was presided over by Joint Director Girish Bhatnagar. Department officials and students actively participated in the program.

The ceremony began with guests and students offering floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The guests were welcomed by Suraj Parmar. Joint Director Girish Bhatnagar highlighted the life and contributions of Phule, while Virma Ram spoke about his social service, efforts for social upliftment, and his pioneering work in promoting women’s education. He encouraged everyone to adopt Phule’s ideals in their lives.

As part of the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, a series of programs will continue:

• April 12: A special awareness program on the theme “Know the Constitution”, along with the launch of an online quiz competition in schools, colleges, and residential institutions, running until April 14.

• April 13: Activities on “Cleanliness and Social Harmony”, including seminars, lectures, film screenings, cleanliness drives, and competitions such as essay writing, speeches, and painting in schools.

• April 14: The main celebrations will be held at district and state levels, featuring the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution, oath-taking ceremonies, and various cultural and educational programs.

The event series aims to spread awareness about constitutional values and inspire citizens to follow the ideals of equality, justice, and social harmony.
