Winners to be honored; musical maestros led by Mukesh Vaishnav to present a special jugalbandi with artists
Udaipur, The Shayrana Udaipur Family will organize a State-Level Free Music Competition and Cultural Ceremony on Sunday, June 21, at Aishwarya College, Shobhagpura, beginning at 10:30 AM. Along with the competition, distinguished musicians and artists will deliver special performances and share insights into the finer aspects of music.
Participants from Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Nathdwara, Pratapgarh, Kherwara, Dungarpur and Sirohi are expected to participate and showcase their musical talent.
Program Coordinator Abha Sirsikar said that people of all age groups are eligible to participate. However, free registration is mandatory, and interested participants must complete their registration by June 20.
A panel of judges comprising noted musicians Mukesh Vaishnav, Rakesh Mathur, Abha Sirsikar, Jitendra Verma and Manoj Porwal will evaluate the performances and select the best singers. Winners will be honored with mementos and recognition, and will also receive direct entry into future grand musical events organized by the group.
The competition will feature a wide range of musical genres, including Bollywood songs, ghazals, folk songs, Rajasthani songs, thumri, mukriyan, bhajans, lavani and original compositions. Both solo and duet performances will be allowed.
According to Event In-charge Lalit Goyal, government employees skilled in playing musical instruments will contribute to the musical atmosphere of the event. A special highlight will be the musical jugalbandi by renowned composer Mukesh Vaishnav, Rakesh Mathur and their team, offering participants an opportunity to learn musical nuances from experienced professionals.
Organizers recalled that during the previous edition of the competition, the level of talent was so high that judges were compelled to award two contestants jointly for the third position and also present three consolation prizes. Similar intense competition is expected this year as well.
The event will also include a felicitation ceremony honoring distinguished personalities, while several senior officials from various departments, music professionals and cultural figures are expected to attend as guests.
