Udaipur: Under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA), Jaipur, and as per the directions of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Chairman Gyan Prakash Gupta, Additional District Judge (ADJ) and DLSA Secretary Rahul Chaudhary conducted an inspection of the Central Prison and Women’s Jail in Udaipur on Wednesday.
The inspection was attended by Central Prison Superintendent Rajpal Singh and other officials of the jail administration.
During the visit, ADJ Chaudhary reviewed the facilities being provided to inmates, including medical care, food, tea, and refreshments. He also sought information regarding the availability of free legal aid, assistance with filing appeals, parole, and other legal services for prisoners.
As part of the inspection, Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC) advocates Abhishek Joshi, Prerna Avchar, Krishna Vaishnav, and Sashwasvi Sharma briefed inmates about the legal assistance available under the Legal Aid Defence Counsel Scheme. They explained the free legal representation and support provided to accused persons through the scheme, ensuring that eligible prisoners are aware of their legal rights and access to justice.
