Water Source Survey Planned for Water Conservation at MPUAT

Udaipur: Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Professor Dr. Pratap Singh, announced that a comprehensive survey of all water sources within the university campus will soon be conducted to promote water conservation.

The survey will cover various water sources, including wells, stepwells, hand pumps, and tube wells. It will assess the availability of water, quality and purity levels, connectivity with rainwater harvesting systems, and whether existing rainwater harvesting structures are functioning effectively.

Senior Water Conservation Volunteer Dr. P.C. Jain met Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Pratap Singh and requested that such a survey be undertaken to ensure better management and conservation of available water resources.

Dr. Jain also suggested that rainwater flowing from the rooftops of university buildings should be channelled into nearby water sources instead of being wasted. He emphasized that proper utilization of rainwater through effective harvesting systems can significantly contribute to groundwater recharge and long-term water sustainability.

The initiative aims to strengthen water conservation efforts on the university campus and encourage responsible management of natural resources.
