Inauguration of Seven-Day Special Camp of the National Service Scheme at CDFT, Udaipur

Udaipur — An inauguration ceremony for the seven-day special camp of the National Service Scheme (NSS) was organized at the College of Dairy and Food Technology (CDFT) under **Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur.

The chief guest of the program, Dr. Lokesh Gupta, addressed the students and spoke about the importance of personality development and civic responsibilities in society. He emphasized environmental conservation, tree plantation, and the need to protect nature. Dr. Gupta encouraged the students to become responsible citizens and contribute significantly toward making India a developed nation by 2047.

NSS Programme Officer Dr. Kamlesh Meena provided detailed information about the history, objectives, and the motto of the NSS, “Not Me But You.” He explained that the main objective of the National Service Scheme is to develop a sense of social service among students and make them aware of their responsibilities toward society. Through NSS, students not only gain academic knowledge but also connect with different sections of society and understand the realities of their lives.

Dr. Meena further stated that NSS activities help in the development of character building, leadership skills, discipline, and a sense of social responsibility among students. When volunteers visit villages and communities to carry out various service activities, they develop important human values such as cooperation, empathy, and teamwork. This helps students become more sensitive toward society and inspires them to play an active role in nation building.

He also presented the outline of the activities planned for the seven-day special camp. These include cleanliness drives, awareness programs, community service, environmental conservation initiatives, health and sanitation awareness campaigns, and voluntary labor (shramdaan) in villages. Through these activities, students will gain practical experience in social service and work with rural communities to bring about positive change.

On this occasion, Dr. Nikita Wadhwan and Dr. Arun Goyal also addressed the students, encouraging them to actively participate in the camp activities and extended their best wishes.

The program was conducted by Khushboo Rathore and Aditi Singh. Around 80 students, faculty members, and staff were present at the event.
