Udaipur : The third day of the Youth Red Cross Training Camp organized at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur was celebrated with great enthusiasm and energy on March 13, 2026. On this occasion, Professor Manoj Kumar Mehla, Dean of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur, attended the program as the chief guest.
Addressing the participants, Professor Mehla said that the Red Cross is an organization that always stands at the forefront of humanitarian service. He encouraged the youth to associate with the Red Cross and contribute to social service. He also spoke in detail about agriculture, describing it as an important part of human life.
On this occasion, the camp director, Professor D.S. Rana, explained that the Red Cross is based on seven fundamental principles — humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality. He shared that he has been associated with Red Cross services for many years and has provided first aid training to thousands of students.
Professor Rana expressed his gratitude to Professor Mehla for providing the opportunity to organize the camp on the college campus and for arranging various facilities within a short time. He also thanked the Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, for his support.
Professor Rana further stated that if such camps are organized in the future, Rajasthan College of Agriculture and Maharana Pratap University will be invited along with their teams so that students from the two states can exchange cultural experiences and establish new dimensions of collaboration.
As part of the camp activities, the students undertook a 9-kilometer trekking expedition at 6 a.m. and visited Fateh Sagar Lake, where they also spread awareness among the public about the Red Cross. After the trek, several competitions were organized, including singing, dance, and a first aid quiz, in which the students participated enthusiastically.
The Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Professor Somnath Sachdeva, congratulated the organizers and said that such events would certainly inspire the youth. He added that Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, is a prominent institution providing higher education in agriculture and technology.
During the event, Professor Mehla also spoke about the history of the university, noting that it was established in 1961 and has since emerged as a leading institution in the fields of agriculture and technology. He mentioned that the university headquarters is located in Udaipur in the southern region of Rajasthan.
