Yoga Practice Conducted at MPUAT with the Message of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’

Udaipur: A yoga practice camp was organized at Rajasthan College of Agriculture under the joint aegis of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) and Bharatiya Sanskriti Abhyutthan Nyas, Udaipur. The chief guests at the event were the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Pratap Singh, and the President of Bharatiya Sanskriti Abhyutthan Nyas, Mr. Hemendra Shrimali.

The yoga session commenced at 6:30 a.m. Participants were introduced to the message and significance of yoga, followed by chanting and prayer. The session included gentle warm-up exercises such as neck movements, shoulder rotations, and arm exercises. Standing postures practiced included Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Padahastasana (Hand-to-Foot Pose), Ardha Chakrasana (Half Wheel Pose), and Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). Sitting postures included Bhadrasana, Vajrasana, Ustrasana (Camel Pose), and Shashakasana (Rabbit Pose). Participants also practiced reclining postures such as Makarasana (Crocodile Pose), Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose), and Uttanapadasana (Raised Leg Pose).

The session further included Kapalbhati and pranayama practices such as Anulom-Vilom, Sheetali, and Bhramari, followed by meditation in Samadhi Mudra. The yoga camp concluded with a pledge and a session of knowledge-based meditation.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pratap Singh described yoga as an integral part of Indian culture and emphasized that asanas and pranayama play a vital role in the physical well-being of individuals. Mr. Hemendra Shrimali, President of Bharatiya Sanskriti Abhyutthan Nyas, highlighted the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World is One Family) as the foundation of global brotherhood, stating that yoga has spread across the world and is benefiting all humanity.

On the occasion, Dean of the College, Director of Student Welfare, and Chairman of the Sports Board, Dr. Manoj Mahla, welcomed the guests by presenting traditional ceremonial shawls. He remarked that in today’s modern environment, yoga is not only beneficial for physical health but also promotes mental peace, guiding individuals toward a balanced, disciplined, and virtuous lifestyle.

The program was attended by university deans, directors, heads of departments, students, staff members, and office-bearers and members of the Nyas.
