AOMSI Organizes Foundation and Skills Course for Postgraduate Maxillofacial Surgery Students

Udaipur, The Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AOMSI) successfully conducted a two-day Foundation and Skills Course for postgraduate students of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Pacific Dental College and Hospital, Debari, on November 5 and 6.

Principal Dr. Bhagwan Das Rai informed that around 80 postgraduate students from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan participated. The course aimed to enhance clinical understanding and strengthen pre-operative and post-operative skills among budding maxillofacial surgeons.

Eminent national faculties including Dr. Krishnamurthy Bonanthaya and Dr. Aditya Murthy (Bengaluru), Dr. Preeti Jain (Jabalpur), Dr. Alka Chhabra (Geetanjali Medical College, Udaipur), Dr. Sonal Anjalia (Ahmedabad), Dr. Ramaraju (AIIMS Nagpur), Dr. Shalu Bansal, Dr. Prashant, and Dr. Anjanay Dubey delivered insightful lectures.

Key topics such as systematic examination, imaging, hematology, endocrine and neurological evaluation, postoperative care, and emergency management were covered through interactive lectures, group discussions, case-based learning, and hands-on sessions.

Course Director Dr. Himanshu Gupta, Professor and Head of the Department, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, led the program effectively. Participants appreciated the interactive learning style and practical exposure offered through the sessions.

This course reflects AOMSI’s continued commitment to strengthening postgraduate education and nurturing the next generation of skilled maxillofacial surgeons in India.
