####Advanced Facilities and Expert Team Perform Uterine Artery Embolization, Saving Woman’s Life

Udaipur, At Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Bedla, a 29-year-old woman suffering from severe postpartum hemorrhage after a complicated delivery was successfully treated through Uterine Artery Embolization by Interventional Radiologist Dr. Bharat Gupta, giving her a new lease of life. This lifesaving procedure was made possible due to the hospital’s advanced facilities and highly skilled medical team.

The woman, a resident of Chhoti Sadri, was admitted for delivery. During the initial examination, doctors found that the baby’s heartbeat was absent, indicating a highly critical situation. Recognizing the urgency, the team comprising Obstetricians Dr. Rama Chundawat and Dr. Akanksha Agrawal, Pediatrician Dr. Kamlesh, and Anesthesia Specialist Dr. Garima carried out the delivery without delay.

Soon after delivery, the woman developed severe postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) — a life-threatening condition. Understanding the gravity of the situation, the team immediately consulted Interventional Radiologist Dr. Bharat Gupta and Head of Radiology Dr. Kapil Vyas. The experts swiftly performed Uterine Artery Embolization, an advanced procedure that controls uterine blood flow and helps in stopping excessive bleeding.

According to Dr. Bharat Gupta, such cases earlier often required removal of the uterus, which could endanger the woman’s life and permanently affect her ability to conceive. However, with modern technology and expert intervention at PMCH, even complex cases are now being managed successfully without the need for uterus removal.

Obstetrician Dr. Rama Chundawat highlighted that postpartum hemorrhage is a serious medical emergency that can become life-threatening if not treated promptly, as excessive blood loss can severely impact a woman’s health.

PMCH Chairman Rahul Agrawal said, “Saving this patient was not just about saving one life, but giving new hope to an entire family. It reflects the commitment of our medical team, advanced technology, and coordinated efforts.”

Following the successful treatment, the woman has fully recovered and has been discharged. Her family expressed gratitude to the hospital management, doctors, and nursing staff.
