Udaipur: The Department of Urology at Pacific Medical College & Hospital (PMCH), Udaipur, organized a one-day Live Workshop on Urethroplasty, offering hands-on exposure to advanced reconstructive urology techniques. The academic event witnessed participation from more than 30 urologists and postgraduate students from across the division.
The workshop commenced at 9:30 a.m. at the PMCH Operation Theatre Complex. A key highlight of the program was the live demonstration of globally accepted, state-of-the-art reconstructive urology procedures, enabling participants to closely observe and understand complex surgical steps in real time.
Renowned reconstructive urologist Dr. Pankaj Joshi from Urocul Hospital, Pune, was invited as the guest faculty. He delivered an in-depth academic session on urethral strictures, complex urethral injuries, and contemporary surgical management strategies. Dr. Joshi performed and demonstrated advanced procedures including open urethroplasty, substitution urethroplasty, oral mucosa graft techniques, and post-traumatic stricture management.
During the live surgery, Dr. Joshi emphasized the importance of precise anatomical understanding, meticulous surgical approach, and accurate graft placement, highlighting key technical nuances essential for successful outcomes.
The workshop was organized under the leadership of Organizing Secretary and Udaipur Urological Society Secretary Dr. Hanumant Singh Rathore, with significant contributions from Dr. Kshitij Ranka, Dr. Hardik Patel, and their dedicated team. Dr. Rathore stated that such scientific initiatives play a crucial role in enhancing the surgical competence of the next generation of doctors, especially in complex urological procedures.
Pacific Hospital Chairman Rahul Agrawal remarked that the workshop not only strengthens clinicians’ surgical skills but also elevates PMCH’s academic excellence and reputation as a center for advanced medical education.
