Udaipur– On the sixth day of the seven-day Cub Master Flock Leader Training Camp being organized for student-teachers of Pacific BSTC College at Pacific University, Debari (Udaipur), the morning session was marked by a layout inspection conducted by the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Dr. Hemant Kothari.
A delegation from Pacific University was also present, including Dr. Hemant Pandya (Principal, Pacific College of Physical Education), Dr. Kapilesh Tiwari (Principal, College of Education Department), Prof. Dilendra Hiran (Chairman, Faculty of Science and Technology), Prof. Anurag Mehta (Chairman and Principal, Institute of Business Studies), Prof. Deepin Mathur (Dean, MBA College), Ranger Rover College In-charge Kavita Sagar, Dilip Singh Chauhan, Dr. Sheela Salvi, Dr. L. N. Chaubisa, Dr. Kapil Jain, Dr. Jai Shri Mandowara, Mamta Vyas, Krishna Maheshwari, Anjali Rao, and others.
During the camp, all patrol groups prepared demonstration layouts based on different themes using available facilities and materials. These included models of an army canteen, a Hindustan Scout Guide training center, the Pacific College campus, a Scout Guide camp setup within a school, a military camp, and a campfire layout. Patrol leaders explained their respective models to the visiting guests. The guests were accorded a Guard of Honour by the Ranger Rover team of Hindustan Scout and Guide. After the layout inspection, the Scout prayer and flag song were sung collectively.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kothari stated that in today’s time, scouting activities are an excellent medium for shaping boys and girls into responsible citizens. They help strengthen character and values, encourage self-reliance, teach thriftiness, and develop self-discipline and courage. He emphasized that such camps create awareness among children toward service to the nation and society, and that Scout and Guide activities are essential for holistic development.
In the second session, held at the Faculty of Education auditorium, Divisional Commissioner of Hindustan Scout and Guide, Gopal Mehta Menaria, delivered a lecture explaining what scouting is, why it is necessary, its principles, and the Scout-Guide method. He stated that the core principle of national security is that every soldier in uniform should see himself as a citizen, and every citizen without uniform should consider himself a soldier. He also provided information about volleyball court construction and rotation rules during his sports-related session.
District Joint Secretary Ishwari Raigar of Hindustan Scout and Guide delivered a lecture on life skills. Camp Director and District Organizer Shanta Vaishnav discussed the log book system, District Secretary Rama Jain guided participants on cultural preparations, and Dungarpur District In-charge Gajendra Vaishnav conducted a practical session on various scouting knots.
The camp will conclude with a closing ceremony scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 AM.
