Udaipur: To honour the invaluable contribution, service, and sacrifice of doctors in society, the Pacific Dental College & Research Centre (PDCRC) under Pacific Medical University organized an Art & Craft Competition on the occasion of Doctors’ Day, where budding dental professionals showcased their creativity and artistic talent.
Medical education is often demanding and stressful; hence, this competition provided students with a refreshing break from their rigorous academic routine, allowing them to express their emotions and creativity on canvas. The event, conducted with special support from Pidilite Industries, aimed to create awareness among the younger generation about the selfless service, dedication, and sacrifice of medical professionals.
Competition coordinator Dr. Rahela Ghordia informed that the theme of the event was “Smile Painters.” Since a dentist’s primary role is to restore a pain-free and beautiful smile, the theme was closely connected to the profession of the participants. Around 30 dental students participated enthusiastically in the competition.
Through colors and brushes, the participants beautifully depicted the lives of doctors, their struggles, their compassionate bond with patients, and the importance of a healthy smile. While some students portrayed doctors as protectors, others brought dental procedures and care to life through their artistic expressions.
Representatives from Pidilite Industries, including Rajasthan AMMD Neeraj Sood and CMDI Gopal Mathur, visited the exhibition, observed the artworks, and appreciated the creativity of the students, encouraging and motivating them.
At the conclusion of the competition, a panel of judges selected the best artworks. The winners were felicitated with attractive prizes and certificates by PDCRC Principal Dr. Gaurav Bhardwaj, Dr. Jitendra Lohar, Dr. Vatsala, Dr. Mahima, and other faculty members. All participating students were also awarded certificates to encourage their efforts.
On the occasion, Principal Dr. Gaurav Bhardwaj extended Doctors’ Day greetings to all students and faculty. He emphasized that mental well-being and creativity are essential qualities of a successful doctor. He further stated that such co-curricular activities play a vital role in reducing stress and ensuring the holistic development of students.
The successful organization of the event was supported by Praveen Dangi and Hemant Sain from the HR Department of PMC, whose contribution was instrumental in its smooth execution.
