Sangam University Hosts National FDP on Research Culture and Outcome-Based Education

Bhilwara, Rajasthan: Sangam University, Bhilwara, successfully organized a one-day National Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Advancing Research Culture and OBE Practices for NAAC Binary Accreditation." The programme was jointly conducted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Research & Development (R&D) Cell to strengthen research excellence and promote Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in higher education.


According to Prof. Preeti Mehta, Director, IQAC, the programme was organized under the guidance and inspiration of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Karunesh Saxena. The primary objective was to enhance research culture in higher education institutions, encourage high-quality research, and equip faculty members with practical knowledge of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and the UGC-NAAC Binary Accreditation Framework.

The keynote speaker, Prof. R. S. Rai, Professor at Bennett University, Greater Noida, addressed the first technical session on developing high-quality research, effective Ph.D. thesis writing, research management tools, quality research publications, patents, consultancy, externally funded research projects, and the significance of research performance indicators in NAAC accreditation and national institutional rankings. He emphasized that research quality, ethics, and innovation are the cornerstones of academic excellence.

During the second technical session, Prof. Rai delivered an in-depth presentation on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the new NAAC Binary Accreditation System, Course Outcome–Programme Outcome (CO–PO) Mapping, attainment analysis, curriculum planning, effective teaching-learning processes, and outcome-oriented assessment strategies. Through practical examples, he explained successful OBE implementation and continuous quality improvement practices.

The programme was attended by Registrar Dr. Alok Kumar, Dean Research Prof. Archana Agrawal, Prof. Rajeev Mehta, Prof. Rajkumar Chaturvedi, Prof. Praveen Soni, Prof. Gunmala, Dr. Deepak Kabra, Dr. Jayant Sharma, Dr. Abhishek Saxena, along with deans, heads of departments, and faculty members from various disciplines.

At the conclusion of the event, Prof. R. S. Rai was felicitated with a memento in recognition of his valuable contribution. Participants described the FDP as highly informative, relevant, and beneficial for promoting research excellence and quality-oriented higher education. The programme was coordinated by Divya Khetrapal and Dr. Abhilasha Bhatt, and concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
