Sri Ganganagar, February 2: Villagers in the district are benefiting from Gram Uthaan (Rural Development) Camps organized under the initiative of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The camps, ongoing since January 23 in the Girdawar Circle, provide a platform for various government departments to reach out to farmers, livestock owners, and rural residents with information about relevant schemes. Participating departments include Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Fisheries, Cooperation, Water Resources, Energy, Industry, Disaster Management, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj.
The camps are being successfully conducted under the supervision of District Collector Dr. Manju. According to Joint Director of Agriculture Surjeet Kumar, the camps have so far reached 1,489 farmers with updates on their tarbandi (irrigation channel) applications, 2,499 farmers regarding diggi (water storage tank) applications, 390 farmers on pipeline projects, and 8,622 farmers on crop insurance schemes.
Additionally, 99 farmers received updates under the Bullock Farming Incentive Scheme, 10,486 farmers were informed about minimum support prices, and 11,937 farmers were briefed on other agriculture-related schemes. Verification of mini-kit distribution was conducted for 15,987 farmers, while seed distribution verification covered 8,231 farmers. Furthermore, 3,916 Soil Health Cards were distributed during the camps.
The Horticulture Department provided information on schemes like fountains, drip irrigation, and plastic mulch. The Agricultural Marketing Department explained the Chief Minister Krishak Saathi Assistance Scheme. The Cooperation Department assisted farmers with Kisan Credit Cards, 5% interest subsidy schemes for agricultural and non-agricultural loans, and preparation of applications for new custom hiring centers.
The Animal Husbandry Department provided primary treatment to 20,420 animals, administered deworming medicines, conducted fever vaccination, performed artificial insemination for 75 animals, and distributed 868 fertility kits. Information on the Gaushala Development Scheme was also shared.
The Fisheries Department promoted the Prime Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana, while the Energy Department facilitated registration under the PM Suryaghar Scheme. The Revenue Department registered 122 farmers under the Farmer Registry. Under the PM Suryaghar initiative, 968 registrations were completed, 14,934 farmers received information on VB-Giramji schemes, 2,842 ownership cards were distributed, 120 cases of canal and waterway repairs were identified, and 69 applications for the Youth Self-Employment Scheme were prepared.
These camps aim to ensure that rural residents directly benefit from government schemes while addressing practical challenges faced by farmers and livestock owners in the district.
