Demand for Increase in Temporary Sanitation Workers Submitted to Municipal Commissioner

Sriganganagar: On Monday, Umesh Valmiki, Vice President of the All India Sanitation Workers’ Union, and Anil Dhariwal, District President, submitted a memorandum to Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Singh Yadav, demanding an increase in the number of temporary sanitation workers.
The Union leaders informed the Municipal Commissioner that the Sriganganagar Municipal Council has contracted a firm to manage sanitation services in the city. Currently, the firm provides 400 temporary sanitation workers, but after the ward delimitation of Sriganganagar, the city’s area has expanded and surrounding rural areas have been included within the municipal wards.
Due to this increase in area, 400 workers are insufficient to maintain regular and efficient sanitation services. Therefore, the Union has requested that the number of temporary sanitation workers be increased from 400 to 500, ensuring smooth and effective sanitation management across the city.
