Grand Inauguration of Panchang Study and Sanskrit Conversation Workshop

Sri Ganganagar: A new chapter of knowledge and learning began on Saturday at Shridharmasangh Sanskrit School with the inauguration of a ten-day workshop on Panchang study and Sanskrit conversation (April 11–21, 2026). The workshop is being organized in collaboration with Central Sanskrit University, Raghunath Kirti Campus, Devprayag.

Warm Welcome to Guests

Eminent trainers from Devprayag, Mukesh Sharma and Vibha Mishra, were warmly welcomed in a traditional manner by Acharya Jitendra Shukla.

Discussion on the Astrological Nature of Panchang

On the first day of the workshop, keynote speaker Vibha Mishra explained the scientific and spiritual aspects of the Panchang in a clear and insightful manner. She elaborated on its five components—Tithi (date), Vaar (day), Nakshatra (constellation), Yoga, and Karan—highlighting their significance. She emphasized that Panchang is not merely a system of calculation but a timeless Indian knowledge tradition that helps understand cosmic energies and the subtle influence of time for the welfare of society.

Report and Address

A detailed report of the workshop was presented by Kartikeya Ojha, outlining the schedule and structure of the upcoming ten days. Presiding over the session, Brahmachari Kalyan Swaroop stated in his address that astrology forms the foundation of the Dharmasangh, and therefore, proper knowledge of Panchang is essential for every seeker.

In the presence of the school’s principal Mukund Tripathi, it was resolved that this workshop would prove to be a milestone in promoting practical usage of Sanskrit and applied knowledge of Panchang.

Session Timings

The workshop will be conducted daily in two sessions:

  • Morning Session: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Afternoon Session: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

The initiative aims to strengthen both conversational Sanskrit skills and practical understanding of traditional Indian time-keeping systems.
