Sports Promote Health and Teamwork, Says MLA Jain

Udaipur: Sports are not only beneficial for health but also teach the values of teamwork and unity, said Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain.

Speaking at the inauguration of the major competitions of the JK Physio & Rehab Makar Sankranti Sports Festival 3.0, held at RCA Ground under the aegis of Udaipur Nagar Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan, MLA Jain emphasized that when young people in a community work together as a team to achieve a goal, they also learn the importance of teamwork in life. Tossing the ball to start the cricket match, he addressed the players and praised efforts promoting sports for societal well-being.

MLA Jain also congratulated the Maheshwari community and the Udaipur Nagar Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan, and acknowledged senior community members such as Madan Lal Dhuppad, Madan Lal Mundra, Arjun Lal Mantri, and Janki Lal Mundra for their remarkable contributions across various fields.

Mr. Mayank Mundra, President of the Udaipur Nagar Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan, shared that cricket competitions started on Saturday morning, followed by volleyball matches in the evening. The finals for these events are scheduled for Sunday morning, 4 January, after which Sitolia and athletics competitions will take place. These competitions are open to participants of all ages, from children to senior citizens.

Vice President Mayank Dilip Mundra mentioned that the event also saw the presence of special guests, including Rajesh Bahedia, Sub-Divisional Officer of Bhinder; Mr. Piyush Devpura, Director of JK Physio & Rehab (Physiotherapy, Medical Gym, Rehab); Mr. Jitendra Inani, Secretary of Mahesh Seva Sansthan, Chitrakoot Nagar; social worker Devendra Maliwal; and other senior members of the community.

Mr. Mohit Mundra, Minister of the Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan, said the closing ceremony will take place on 4 January at 5:30 PM in the RCA Auditorium. Chief guests will include Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi, State Cooperation Minister Gautam Dak, Rajsamand MLA Deepti Kiran Maheshwari, BJP State Vice President Alka Mundra, Paras Singvi, President of Udaipur Division Chamber of Commerce, and Raghav Kothari, State President of Southern Rajasthan Regional Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan.

State Cultural Minister Darshan Asawa added that notable community members including Swati & Piyush Devpura, Nirmala & Gopal Kabra, Rajkumari & Kunjbihari Mundra, Mahavir Prasad Chandak, Ashok Kumar Baheti, Jagdish Chandra Toshniwal, Hemant Laddha, Ladooram Mundra, Piyush Mundra, Vishnu Randad, and Vinod Randad will also be special guests.

Harsh Inani, a member of the Udaipur Nagar Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan, stated that during the main ceremony, the organization will honor distinguished members of the community with the Power Icons Award, as was done last year. This year’s awardees include Mohan Devpura, Satyanarayan Maheshwari, Gopal Krishna Gadiya, Ramnarayan Kothari, Shyamsundar Devpura, Rajesh Rathi, Devendra Maliwal, Poonam Bhadada, and Rahul Maheshwari.

Mr. Mohit Baheti added that cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, and contributors and social workers supporting the event will also be felicitated. Preparations for the ceremony have been completed.

Coordinator Hemant Kabra noted that in the first phase, badminton and table tennis competitions were successfully conducted on 21 December at the Lav-Kush Indoor Stadium.
