India Shines at Asian Lacrosse Games; Gold Medalists from Udaipur Felicitated

Udaipur: The Indian team’s historic double gold medal victory in the Women’s and Men’s categories at the Asian Lacrosse Games held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has brought immense pride to the nation, the state, and Udaipur on the international stage. Felicitation ceremonies honoring the players are continuing across the region.
Talented players from Rajasthan’s tribal belt who were part of the Indian lacrosse team were honored in a grand समारोह organized by Rajasthan Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) in recognition of their outstanding and historic performance.
In the women’s category, Sunita Meena, Dali Gameti, Jula Kumari Gurjar, Yashistha Batra, Yashoda Gameti, Meera Dauja, Roshni Bose, Janvi Rathore, and Mukan Kumari Gurjar were felicitated. In the men’s category, Mohanlal Gameti, Khumar Ram Gameti, Dayashankar Gameti, Narayan Lal Gameti, and Nishant Nagda were honored. The Head Coach of the Indian team, Neeraj Batra, was also specially recognized for his contribution.
The ceremony was presided over by RSMML Chairperson and Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani. On this occasion, Bharati Raj, Naresh Elania, Rajendra Rao, B.S. Patrabat, Naresh Shrimali, IT Director Giriraj Katheria, along with several senior officials and employees, were present. All extended a warm welcome to the players and conveyed their best wishes for a bright future.
During the program, Coach Neeraj Batra and the players expressed their gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor and RSMML for the timely sponsorship, essential resources, and facilities provided to them. They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering outstanding performances for the country in the future. On this occasion, the ball used in the final match of the Asian Lacrosse Games was presented to RSMML Chairperson Pragya Kevalramani as a historic memento.
A motivational short film, produced with the support of the Government of Rajasthan and financial assistance from RSMML, was also screened during the ceremony. The film effectively portrayed the inspiring journey of tribal players—from their early struggles to winning international gold medals. It has emerged as a source of inspiration for youth and students.
In continuation of the felicitation series, Udaipur District Collector Namit Mehta, Udaipur Development Authority Commissioner Rahul Jain, Director of Public Relations Gaurishankar Sharma, and District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal also honored the players at their respective offices and extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes.
The felicitation ceremony not only celebrated the extraordinary achievements of the players but also conveyed a powerful message—that with government support, strong guidance, and relentless dedication, youth from tribal regions can elevate India’s pride on the global stage.
