Meeting of “Suraksha Sakhis” Chaired by Additional SP Ms. Niyati Sharma

Kota – A significant meeting was held in Kota city today under the guidance of City SP Ms. Tejaswini Gautam, aimed at strengthening women and child safety and enhancing police-public participation. The meeting was chaired by Additional Superintendent of Police, Women Crime Research Cell, Kota City, Ms. Niyati Sharma, and attended by “Suraksha Sakhis” (Women Safety Volunteers) representing all police station jurisdictions across Kota city.

During the meeting, a detailed interaction was conducted with the Suraksha Sakhis. The discussion focused on their roles, responsibilities, and contributions at the police station level in increasing public engagement. The Additional SP highlighted that the Suraksha Sakhis serve as a crucial link between the police and the community, providing women and girls with safety, awareness, and a sense of trust.

The outstanding work carried out by the Suraksha Sakhis in their respective areas was acknowledged and appreciated. Emphasis was laid on further strengthening police-public cooperation, sharing timely information in sensitive cases, and spreading positive messages in society. It was also noted that the active involvement of Suraksha Sakhis plays a key role in crime prevention, providing timely assistance to victims, and fostering trust in the law within the community.

The Suraksha Sakhis shared their experiences, insights, and practical suggestions, highlighting challenges at the grassroots level, ways to improve public engagement, and various aspects of women’s safety. The Additional SP assured that all suggestions would be taken seriously and effectively implemented.

The meeting concluded with a resolution that the Suraksha Sakhis will continue to serve as a vital bridge between the police and the public, actively contributing to the creation of a safe, sensitive, and cooperative society in Kota city.
