Devotees Mark Akshaya Tritiya with Culmination of Year-Long Penance and Ritual Breaking of Fas

On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, devotees observed the culmination of their year-long penance, with ascetics guiding them through the ritualistic breaking of their fasts with sugarcane juice.

The celebration commenced with a procession from Laxmi Palace at 6:15 a.m., honoring the ascetic practitioners of penance. Following this, a serene atmosphere prevailed as devotees gathered at the Shantibhavan, where the penance culmination ceremony took place under the guidance of revered Sadhvis.

A discourse ensued, led by Sadhvi Shiromaniji, who underscored the significance of Akshaya Tritiya and its association with the tradition of breaking the fast with sugarcane juice, initiated by Shreyans Kumar. This ritual not only marked the completion of penance but also served as an occasion for devotees to seek blessings from ascetics.

In a spiritually charged ambiance, Sadhvi Madhukumarji and Sadhvi Maniprabhaji expounded upon the essence of penance, highlighting its role in purifying the mind and body. Social activist Mahaveer Singh Choudhary presided over the event, emphasizing the honor bestowed upon those engaged in penance.

Special guests included community leaders Meethalal Singhvi, Hemantkumar Anchaliya, and others, who graced the occasion with their presence. The event featured performances by the Shanti Jain Mahila Mandal and the Mahaveer Yuva Mandal.

As the ceremony concluded, families of the ascetic practitioners were felicitated, alongside honored guests. The morning saw a grand procession through the streets, with devotees enthusiastically cheering for the ascetics.

At the concluding ceremony, held at Shantibhavan, a heartfelt prayer session commenced at 7:15 a.m., symbolizing the completion of the festivities.
