Jaisalmer, The world-famous Baba Ramdevra Fair 2025 once again proved why it holds a special place in the hearts of millions of devotees and visitors. On the sacred soil of Baba Ramsapir, a magnificent cultural evening was organized under the guidance of District Collector Pratap Singh, with the support of the Tourist Reception Centre, Jaisalmer. The evening became a radiant celebration of folk art, traditional music, and devotional energy, drawing devotees into an atmosphere of faith and festivity.

Assistant Director of Tourism Kamleshwar Singh shared that the event was graced by a host of administrative officials including Sub-Divisional Officer Pokaran and Mela Officer Lakharaam Choudhary, Tehsildar Pokaran Hajara Ram Bhil, Village Development Officer Chouthram Saolanki, Assistant Tourism Officer Khemendra Singh Jam, Pokaran College Assistant Professor Tejveer Singh Tanwar, EO Khetaram from the Ration Department, Patwari Jaswant Singh, along with representatives from the mela administration and Gram Panchayat. Their presence symbolized the collaborative efforts of administration and community in making this annual fair a success.

This year’s cultural evening brought together internationally acclaimed folk artists of Jaisalmer district who have earned recognition for their extraordinary talent worldwide. Through folk songs, traditional instruments, and mesmerizing dances, the artists transformed the atmosphere into one of devotion and celebration, leaving the audience enchanted.

Spectacular Performances

The evening opened with Ishwardan of Pokaran, whose soulful bhajans dedicated to Baba Ramdevji Maharaj set the devotional tone. The stage soon came alive with the energy of Annu Saolanki, popularly known as the “Lightning of Jaisalmer.” His mastery over Chakri, Bhawai, and Kalbelia dances enthralled the audience.

The grandeur continued with Leelidevi from Pali Padarla presenting the rare Terhatali dance, while Udar Ram of Ramgarh stunned everyone with the fascinating Tarazu Nritya. Adding to the spectacle, Revtaram’s Kachhi Ghodi dance captivated the crowd, blending music, rhythm, and storytelling.

From Bhainsda, Chhugge Khan’s Desert Symphony evoked the very spirit of Rajasthan’s sandy landscapes, while Jamal Khan’s devotional Rajasthani bhajans struck a deep spiritual chord among the devotees. The charm of traditional instruments shone through Tagaram Bhil’s Algauja recital from Moolsagar, accompanied by fellow artists who showcased the enchanting versatility of Rajasthan’s folk music.

Atmosphere of Devotion and Joy

As the evening progressed, the audience was swept into waves of joy and reverence. Devotees clapped in rhythm, swayed to the beats of folk instruments, and many even broke into impromptu dance before the stage. The entire venue resonated with chants of “Baba Ramdevji ki Jai”, creating a spiritually uplifting experience. The thunderous applause and cheers reflected not only appreciation for the artists but also the unity of faith and culture.
