Udaipur – Preparations for the Judo, Beach Volleyball, and Kayaking–Canoeing events proposed in Udaipur under the 5th Khelo India University Games have entered the final stage under the direction of the district administration. District Collector Namit Mehta and Administrative In-charge of the Games, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, are overseeing the arrangements, with teams from the administration, sports department, and technical experts ensuring all necessary facilities are in place.
District Sports Officer and Assistant In-charge Dr. Mahesh Paliwal informed that the Judo competition will be held from 25 to 28 November at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indoor Stadium. The Beach Volleyball competition will take place from 28 November to 1 December on the premises of Mahakaleshwar Temple. The Kayaking and Canoeing events will be organised from 2 to 4 December at Fatehsagar Pal. Preparations for all venues are underway, and the complete equipment for kayaking and canoeing has already arrived.
Dr. Paliwal added that Himanshu Rajawat has been appointed by the Rajasthan State Sports Council as In-charge for Judo, while Ajit Jain and Ashok Choudhary are overseeing Beach Volleyball, and Shakeel Hussain is supervising Kayaking and Canoeing. Under their leadership, installations such as the jetty and rescue boats were completed on Thursday. At the indoor stadium, the judo platform and stage have been prepared, and the truss-lighting work is in progress. Branding activities are also being carried out.
Similarly, preparations for the Beach Volleyball venue at Mahakaleshwar Temple are progressing rapidly. Experts inspected the court on Thursday. Work for laying wooden outer supports and filling sand will begin shortly.
