The NCC cadets of Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) organised a Road Safety Awareness Drive on August 14, 2026, to promote traffic discipline, responsible road behaviour and greater awareness of road safety among students and members of the community.
The programme was graced by Dr. Sanjay Sinha, FRSA, President, SPSU, Prof. Prasun Chakrabarti, Pro President, SPSU,
and Prof. Lt. Dr. D. S. Chouhan, Deputy
Dean, Students’ Welfare. Their presence encouraged the cadets and highlighted
the University’s commitment to nurturing disciplined, responsible and socially
conscious citizens.
Addressing the students, Dr. Sanjay Sinha
emphasised that road safety begins with individual responsibility and
disciplined conduct. He highlighted the importance of following traffic
regulations and exercising caution on the road to prevent accidents and protect
lives. He encouraged the cadets to lead by example and inspire their peers and
community members to adopt safe road practices.
As part of the drive, the NCC cadets actively disseminated
messages on following traffic rules, wearing helmets and
seat belts, avoiding distracted driving, and respecting fellow road users. Their enthusiastic participation
reflected the core values of discipline, service and civic responsibility
fostered through NCC training.
The
awareness drive reaffirmed SPSU’s commitment to fostering social responsibility, civic awareness and
community engagement among its students. It also provided the NCC cadets
with an opportunity to put their values of discipline, service and leadership into practice and contribute
meaningfully towards promoting safer roads and responsible road behaviour in
society.
