###Udaipur Hosts Rajasthan’s Largest Neuroendoscopy Workshop

UDAIPUR, India — Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital hosted the first Udaipur Neurosurgery Update 2026, a two-day national conference that featured what organizers described as Rajasthan’s largest neuroendoscopy cadaver workshop in nearly two decades.

Held on July 11-12, the conference was organized by the Department of Neurosurgery under the leadership of Dr. Govind Mangal, organizing chairman, and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, organizing secretary. The event focused on neuroendoscopy and brought together approximately 100 to 110 neurosurgeons, neurologists and resident doctors from across India.

The opening day featured scientific sessions, expert lectures, case-based discussions and interactive panel discussions on craniovertebral junction anomalies, cranial and spinal neuroendoscopy, epilepsy surgery and neurovascular surgery. Presentations covered advanced neurosurgical techniques, including endoscopic pituitary surgery, transorbital skull base surgery, unilateral biportal endoscopic (UBE) spine surgery, Endo-TLIF, epilepsy surgery, AVM radiosurgery, flow diverter treatment and hybrid approaches to cerebral aneurysms. The day concluded with an inaugural ceremony and cultural program.

On the second day, the Department of Anatomy hosted an advanced hands-on cadaver workshop, where 50 young neurosurgeons received practical training using 10 cadavers. Participants practiced neuroendoscopic cranial and spinal procedures under expert supervision, including UBE spine surgery, PSLD, endonasal and transorbital skull base approaches, and craniovertebral junction techniques.

According to the organizers, the workshop was the largest neurosurgical cadaver training program held in Rajasthan in nearly 20 years. They said that even many national conferences do not offer cadaver-based training on such a large scale, making the event a significant milestone for neurosurgical education in the state.

The conference featured faculty from leading medical institutions across the country, including Dr. Deepak Singh of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Lucknow; Dr. Rashim Kataria, Dr. Avadhesh Jaiswal, Dr. Prakash Nair, Dr. Shyam Bodliwala, Dr. Vijay Sardana of Kota Medical College, Dr. Achal Sharma, Dr. Anees Jukkarwala, Dr. Aditya Gupta of Artemis Hospital, Delhi, Dr. Achal Gupta, Dr. Mohammad Anzar, Dr. Rahul Ahluwalia, and Dr. Brijesh Soni of Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, among other nationally recognized experts.

Faculty members and delegates attended from Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Kerala, Aligarh, Kota, Kashmir, Dehradun and Gujarat, reflecting the conference's national reach.

Organizers credited Ankit Agrawal, Executive Director of Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, for his guidance and support in making the event possible. They also acknowledged the contributions of the Department of Anatomy, departmental heads, senior faculty members and the organizing committee, noting that the availability of a large number of cadavers was one of the conference's defining achievements.

Following the success of the inaugural edition, the organizing committee announced plans to expand Udaipur Neurosurgery Update into an even larger national event in future editions.
