###Surgical Skills Training Bus Launched at GMCH

Udaipur: Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital successfully inaugurated the state-of-the-art mobile hands-on training bus, “Surgical Skills Training on Wheels,” in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson MedTech. The initiative aims to provide practical exposure and advanced surgical training to young surgeons and postgraduate medical students.


The programme was inaugurated by the Dean of GMCH, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Gupta. Medical Superintendent Dr. Harpreet Singh, Prof. and Head of Department Dr. Madhubala Chauhan (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Prof. and Head of Department Dr. Sanjeev Agrawal (General Surgery), Dr. Rajkumari Sambhar, and Dr. Divya Chaudhary were also present during the event. Representatives from Johnson & Johnson MedTech, including Jasleen Singh, Rupendra, and technician Mukesh, attended the programme as well.

The advanced mobile skill lab has been specially designed to provide real-time surgical training through modern technology and expert guidance. During the session, participants received practical training in several advanced surgical procedures, including bowel anastomosis, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, advanced laparoscopic suturing, Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH), and myomectomy.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Gupta said that skill-based medical education is extremely important and such innovative initiatives would play a significant role in enhancing the competency of future surgeons.

PG students and young surgeons participating in the programme described the initiative as highly beneficial, stating that it offered them an excellent opportunity to learn modern surgical techniques under expert supervision.

The GMCH administration stated that such advanced training programmes are regularly organised at the institution to ensure that staff members and resident doctors remain updated and proficient in modern surgical practices.
