####Traffic Rules and Road Safety Are Our Priority: Sarita Singh

Chittorgarh: Road safety and adherence to traffic rules are not limited to industrial premises but are a shared responsibility of every citizen. The safety of one individual ensures the safety of the entire family, said Ms. Sarita Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, while addressing a vehicle rally organised at Hindustan Zinc’s Chanderiya Lead-Zinc Smelter during the 37th Road Safety Month. She attended the event as the chief guest and appreciated Hindustan Zinc’s consistent leadership in promoting road safety initiatives.


Ms. Singh administered a road safety pledge, urging participants to ensure that their actions reflect their words and to take responsibility for their own safety as well as that of others.

Transport Officer D.S. Gupta also addressed the gathering and emphasised making safety a top priority while driving. He appealed to all two-wheeler riders to wear helmets and to four-wheeler occupants to always use seat belts.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Alok Ranjan, Location Head, Chanderiya Lead-Zinc Smelter, encouraged everyone to adopt safe practices to protect themselves and their families. Mr. Ranjit Singh Bhati, President, Metal Mine Workers Union, highlighted that safety is equally important at the workplace, on roads, and at home, and stressed the need for constant awareness to prevent accidents.

The vehicle rally was flagged off from the Chanderiya Smelter by Ms. Sarita Singh, Mr. D.S. Gupta, RTO Inspector Kishan, Mr. Alok Ranjan and Mr. Ranjit Singh Bhati. The rally passed through major city routes, including the District Collectorate, spreading awareness about traffic rules. Participants riding two-wheelers wore crash helmets, while four-wheeler occupants used seat belts and displayed road safety messages through placards and loudspeakers.

As part of the Road Safety Month, Hindustan Zinc, Chanderiya Lead-Zinc Smelter, organised various awareness activities such as street plays, “Roko-Toko” campaigns, eye check-up camps for drivers, first-aid training, and road safety awareness sessions for students and women.

The rally, organised under the leadership of the Safety Department of Chanderiya Smelting Complex, witnessed participation from over 100 two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers. Senior officials, employees, contract safety officers, and workers, including G. Mallesham, Ambrish Kumar, Usha Sharma, Deepak Patel, Shubham, Vinay, Bhagwati Paliwal, Renu Shrangi, Ashok, Sundar Raj, Dinesh Prajapat and Kunal Paliwal, were present on the occasion.
