###Respect for Elders Strengthens Social Values

Udaipur,  In an inspiring initiative aimed at strengthening social values and promoting respect for senior citizens, the Udaipur Environment Committee and Basant Vihar Park enthusiasts organized a heartfelt felicitation ceremony for 88-year-old senior citizen Dr. Shyam Lal Mathur, former Director of the Agricultural Extension Directorate, Udaipur.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mathur was honored with a traditional turban and stole as a mark of respect and appreciation.

Park members and senior citizens present at the event described the initiative as a living example of social harmony, cultural values, and respect for elders. Committee President Sushil Bathia said that in today’s fast-paced modern lifestyle, honoring senior citizens is not merely a tradition but also a moral responsibility of society. He also appealed to park enthusiasts to contribute towards park conservation, increasing greenery, and strengthening social participation.

B.K. Gupta termed the initiative inspirational for society and said that such programs help connect the younger generation with values, traditions, and social responsibilities.

Expressing gratitude for the honor, Dr. Shyam Lal Mathur said that the spirit of mutual respect, cooperation, and environmental conservation should continue to grow stronger in society.

The ceremony, held at Basant Vihar Park, witnessed the participation of around 50 park enthusiasts and local residents. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rajdev Shah.
