107 Children’s Authors to be Honoured; 20 Books to be Released

Mega Conclave of Children’s Literature Writers to Begin in Nathdwara from January 5

Nathdwara.The Sahitya Mandal, Shrinathdwara, will organise the Late Bhagwati Prasad Devpura Memorial and National Children’s Literature–Cultural Programme from January 5 to 7, 2026, at the Bhagwati Prasad Devpura Auditorium, Nathdwara.

Providing details of the event, Shyam Prakash Devpura, Prime Minister of Sahitya Mandal, said that the three-day programme will feature seminars on the life, works, and literary contributions of Late Bhagwati Prasad Devpura, paper presentations on various themes of children’s literature, a poetry symposium, book exhibition, honouring of children’s authors, and the release of 20 books.

A total of 107 children’s literature writers from 11 states—Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh—will be honoured during the event. Of these, 58 writers will be felicitated with cash awards and honorary distinctions for their outstanding literary contributions.

Additionally, 49 children’s authors will be awarded for securing first, second, third, and consolation prizes in the National Children’s Story and Poetry Competition organised by Sahitya Mandal on the theme Indian Festivals. Twenty-two children who achieved success in the national-level competition will also be honoured.

The seminar sessions will include scholarly presentations by:

Dr. Pashupatinath Upadhyay (Aligarh) on Contemporary Perspectives of Children’s Literature

Dr. Rameshwar Prasad Saraswat (Saharanpur) on Self-Confidence and Self-Development in Children’s Stories

Dr. Satyanarayan ‘Satya’ (Raipur) on Challenges and Possibilities of Children’s Stories in the Modern Era

Narendra ‘Nirmal’ (Bharatpur) on Children’s Stories in Cultural Context

Mrs. Vimla Nagla (Kekri) on Children’s Stories and Life Values in the Present Age

Mrs. Santosh ‘Richa’ (Raya) on Moral Values in Children’s Stories

Books authored by 18 writers will also be formally released during the programme.

From the Hadoti region, prominent literary figures including Vasushrava Dwivedi, Aditi Sharma, Roopji Roop, Dr. Sushila Joshi, Hemraj Singh Hem, Mamta Mahak, Nand Kishore Mahawar, Devki Darpan, Mahesh Pancholi, Dr. Yugal Singh, Saleem Swatantra, Shailendra Jain Gunguna, Yogiraj Yogi, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Rekha Sharma (Bundi), and Tikam Chandra Dhodaria (Chhabra) will be honoured and awarded.
