Call for Youth to Contribute to Nation-Building and Remain Vigilant

Udaipur: Mohanlal Sukhadia University organized the Mohanlal Sukhadia Memorial Lecture on Friday. This year's lecture was themed "Youth and Internal Security." The keynote address was delivered by J. Nandakumar, National Convener of Pragya Pravah, while the Chief Guest, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Prof. Vasudev Devnani, addressed the gathering virtually.

In his keynote address, J. Nandakumar emphasized that young people play a vital role in channeling the nation toward positive progress and contributing to social development. He stressed that protecting the nation and society from negative forces is one of the greatest responsibilities of the youth. According to him, when the energy, knowledge, and determination of young people are directed appropriately, they can significantly strengthen both the country's development and security. He urged the youth to use their intellect, energy, and wisdom in the service of the nation and strive to bring about positive social change.

Addressing the audience virtually, Assembly Speaker Prof. Vasudev Devnani said that the nation must always come first. He urged citizens to rise above personal interests and think in the larger interest of the country. Cautioning young people against misinformation, he advised them not to accept every piece of information received on mobile phones as true. He said that many messages are deliberately circulated to spread confusion and create divisions in society. Devnani also pointed out that foreign forces sometimes engage in activities aimed at undermining the nation and encouraging distrust in leadership. Therefore, he urged the youth to remain vigilant, exercise sound judgment, and refrain from believing misleading information. Such misinformation, he said, poses a serious threat to the country's internal security, and every citizen must recognize this challenge.

Raman Kumar Sood, Secretary of the University Alumni Council "Manas," highlighted the importance of patience and uninterrupted work during times of crisis. He said that the responsibility for the nation's security and development rests largely on the shoulders of the youth, as they are the architects of the country's future.

Presiding over the programme, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kailash Daga said that the university regularly organizes such events to instill patriotism, social responsibility, and awareness among students and young people. Describing the Mohanlal Sukhadia Memorial Lecture as an important university tradition, he encouraged students to understand their duties toward the nation and society alongside their academic pursuits.

At the beginning of the programme, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Meera Mathur welcomed the guests and provided a detailed overview of the annual Mohanlal Sukhadia Memorial Lecture series. The vote of thanks was delivered by Registrar Dr. B. C. Garg.

The programme was attended by the university's deans, directors, officers, faculty members, students, and distinguished guests.

Earlier in the morning, floral tributes were paid to the statue of Mohanlal Sukhadia by the dignitaries and participants.
