North Western Railway Wins Three Shields and Five Individual Awards at the 2025 Distinguished Railway Service Awards (National)

New Delhi: At the **Distinguished Railway Service Awards (National) 2025** ceremony held in Delhi on Friday, **North Western Railway (NWR)** was honored with **three shields** and **five individual awards** for outstanding performance. The awards were presented by **Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw**, Minister of Railways, Communications & Information Technology and Electronics. Along with zonal recognition, individual railway employees demonstrating excellence were also awarded certificates and prizes.

For the year 2025, NWR received **three shields** for exceptional performance, while **two officers and three staff members** were recognized with individual awards.

According to **Shri Shashi Kiran**, Chief Public Relations Officer of NWR, the awards were presented at the **70th Distinguished Railway Service Awards ceremony** held at the **India International Convention and Expo Centre, Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi**. NWR was represented by **General Manager Shri Amitabh**, **Additional GM Shri Ashok Maheshwari**, **Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri R.K. Moondra**, and **Ajmer Division Railway Manager Shri Raju Bhootda**. The three shields awarded to NWR included:

* **Govind Vallabh Pant Shield** – for overall operational efficiency
* **Wagon Maintenance Shield**
* **Running Room Shield (Abu Road Running Room)**

In addition, the following individuals from NWR were honored for their outstanding contributions:

* **Smt. Megha Godara Dev**, Deputy Chief Personnel Officer
* **Smt. Monika Yadav**, Divisional Commercial Manager
* **Shri Shivlal Jaisingh Purohit**, Senior Section Engineer
* **Shri Omkar**, Constable
* **Shri Mubarik Hussain Mansuri**, Loco Pilot

The achievement of these national awards is a direct result of the **visionary leadership of GM Shri Amitabh**, **effective guidance of department heads**, and the **hard work, discipline, and teamwork of employees at all levels**. The railway administration credited these accomplishments to **clear goal setting, transparent working processes, and a results-oriented approach**.
