Alwar/Jaipur: The Alwar Tiger International Half Marathon was organized on Sunday from Pratap Auditorium, Alwar, under the chief guestship of Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma. Along with the Chief Minister, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Bhupender Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Forest and Environment Shri Sanjay Sharma flagged off the marathon in its various categories. Actor Shri Randeep Hooda, the brand ambassador of the marathon, was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister encouraged the winners of the 21-kilometer Elite Men’s and Women’s Half Marathon categories at the finish line. On this occasion, he honored Padma Shri awardee and renowned Bhapang artist Shri Gafuruddin Mewati Jogi by draping a shawl around him. The marathon featured several categories, including the 21-kilometer Elite Men’s and Women’s Half Marathon, 21-kilometer Forces Run, 21-kilometer Open Half Marathon, and 10-kilometer Open Marathon.
Chief Minister Boosts Participants’ Enthusiasm, Takes Selfies
Early in the morning, amid cool breezes, thousands of participants filled the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm. City residents and youth warmly welcomed the Chief Minister. Shri Sharma boosted the morale of the participants, acknowledged their greetings, and also took selfies with the youth. During the event, flower petals were showered on the participants from a helicopter.
Notably, this international-level marathon was organized under the Alwar MP Sports Festival, based on the theme of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative Fit India Mission, along with promoting tiger conservation and Alwar tourism. Runners from various countries participated in the marathon, along with personnel from the Army, Police, and Paramilitary Forces.
Several distinguished public representatives, eminent citizens, and a large number of marathon participants were present on the occasion.
