Udaipur Tax Bar Association Defeats Central GST Department to Win Tax Fraternity Volleyball Tournament–2026

Udaipur: Under the Tax Fraternity Sports Festival–2026, the Udaipur Tax Bar Association organized a grand one-day volleyball tournament at the Volleyball Ground of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur.

A total of five teams associated with the taxation fraternity participated in the tournament, including Udaipur Tax Bar Association – Marvelous Malu, Income Tax Department, Central GST Department, State GST Department, and Udaipur Tax Bar Association – Vyas Warriors. All teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and high-quality performance.

The final match was highly thrilling, played between Udaipur Tax Bar Association – Marvelous Malu and the Central GST Department. After a tough contest, the Marvelous Malu team defeated the Central GST Department to clinch the Tax Fraternity Volleyball Tournament–2026 title, while the Central GST team finished as the runner-up.

President of the Udaipur Tax Bar Association, CA Gautam Sukhlecha, informed that Sandeep Bapna, Managing Director of Mewar Polytex, and Rajesh Suthar graced the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guests.

The event was further honored by the presence of Roshanlal, Joint Commissioner, Central GST Department; Vinod Chaudhary, Commissioner, Income Tax Department; and Mrs. Kavita Pathak, Deputy Commissioner, State GST Department, as Distinguished Guests. The guests motivated the players to participate with sportsmanship, discipline, and mutual harmony.

Sports Committee Chairman CA Pankaj Jain stated that based on outstanding performance in the league matches, Udaipur Tax Bar Association – Marvelous Malu qualified directly for the final. In the semifinal match played between Udaipur Tax Bar Association – Vyas Warriors and the Central GST Department, the Central GST team emerged victorious and advanced to the final.

Sports Committee Vice Chairman CA Chandra Prakash Baldi shared that more than 30 members from the Income Tax Department, over 25 members from the Central GST Department, and more than 40 members of the Udaipur Tax Bar Association were present at the ground to encourage the players.

The successful organization of the volleyball tournament was made possible through the dedicated efforts of association members Shailesh Maheshwari, Vishal Menaria, Anshul Kateja, Hatim Ali, Satish Jain, Ramesh Dangi, Pawan Talesara, Amit Tiwari, Chandra Singh Nenavati, Ankush Jain, and many others, who played an important role through continuous coordination, planning, and hard work.

On this occasion, Principal Chief Commissioner Mrs. Manisha Chandra highlighted the significant role of the Income Tax Department in the country’s progress and economic development, elaborating on departmental activities and the contribution of tax administration to nation-building.

The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Dr. Ran Singh, along with more than 120 employees of the Income Tax Department and members of the Tax Bar. Addressing the gathering, CA Gautam Sukhlecha and Dr. Ran Singh emphasized cleanliness, environmental protection, and conservation of natural resources, urging everyone to take a pledge for their preservation.
