Colorful Celebration of ‘Skill Fest–2026’ in Pilani: Hands-On Training by Udaipur and Sirohi Artists

Udaipur: Under the aegis of Birla Education Trust, Pilani, the Technology and Art Training Center (TATC) successfully organized the grand BET TATC Skill Fest–2026. Held from 30 January to 5 February 2026, this week-long festival aimed to empower students through skill-based education, fostering creativity, innovation, and technical expertise.
The event featured a wide range of workshops in arts, crafts, innovation, and technology, filling the campus with creative energy. Renowned artists, educators, and experts from Rajasthan and other parts of India conducted hands-on training sessions, offering students a direct learning experience.
Thermocol Craft Workshop by Hemant Joshi from Udaipur
Udaipur-based innovative teacher and celebrated stone craftsman Hemant Joshi conducted a workshop on thermocol sculpture, teaching students practical aspects of imagination, balance, and structure. He emphasized that even limited resources can yield endless creative possibilities, provided one has vision and practice. Under his guidance, students crafted impressive artworks from thermocol, showcasing their creativity.
Miniature Art Training by Nimaram from Sirohi
The workshop also featured miniature artist Nimaram from Sirohi, who trained students in the fine techniques, composition, and thematic selection of traditional Indian miniature art. He highlighted that this delicate art form demands patience, discipline, and keen observation. Participants described the session as a beautiful blend of heritage and modernity.
A Unique Convergence of Art, Science, and Innovation
Skill Fest–2026 offered a diverse array of workshops and competitions, including resin art, theater, engraving and embossing (Naksh Kala), still life painting, e-waste upcycling, drone technology, AI Robo Challenge, batik and macramé, and soft toy crafting, providing students with a unique platform to explore creativity and technical skills simultaneously.
